A Message From Director Teresa Anderson

November 19, 2025

The work of public health is never ending, always changing and never ever boring! I have been both challenged and privileged these 22 years to lead an impressive team in achieving the best possible outcomes for our community’s health and wellbeing. Now it is time for someone else to take the lead for Central District Health Department. I have submitted my retirement notice to the Board of Health and to our awesome staff. I plan to stay on the job through May 31, 2026, to provide a smooth transition.

Please know how much I appreciate the support and guidance I have received over these many years from Board members who have consistently guided the work of public health in the face of a multitude of adversities. I am grateful for our partnerships with hospitals, clinics, schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. They have been invaluable in collaborative work leading to better health for our community. Also, I will forever be grateful beyond measure to work with the amazing staff here at CDHD.

There are many upcoming opportunities to expand the work we do through the new Rural Health Transformation Project starting early next year. I hope to remain part of the planning and early implementation process as the Director search is undertaken.

Clearly, it is time for me to focus on family and friends, but please know my heart will always be with the work of public health. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve as Health Director for an amazing staff, Board, and community!
